How Opening to Curiosity can Ignite your Life

“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.”
Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart
To be curious is to be as a child - loving, joyous,
free. When we're closed to life, spontaneity and delight
vanishes. We cut ourselves off from Spirit.

Hello!   I’ve never not been curious – curious about life, why we’re here, why we act and re-act in the ways we do. Since I can remember my abiding passion has been the human condition and how we are, how we re-act, stay stuck, judge, criticise, get depressed, laugh, cry, stay fat, too thin, take risks, stay safe!  What I love more than anything about life is us unfurry ‘critters’, how we tick. The human condition, the human mind.  Why are you as you are, and I as I am.  Nature, nurture,  a mixture … or provocatively neither?   Where are we going to?  Where have we come from?  Ever wondered?  I’m sure you do and have, and perhaps you maywant to open up to question, you may not.  My younger daughter once said to me, ‘Mum, if you believe in life after death, you must believe in life before life’.  A profound statement for a ten year old.

Why are siblings always so different, and affected differently by the same events.  I don’t know about you, but this is something that has intrigued me since I first asked ‘Why’, and only remember being told not to question. Not to question?  I say without questioning we are not living.  Apparently I was the perpetual annoyance because I was always questioning.  Didn’t my siblings?

My deepest reason for wishing to engage with you and writing a blog  is to both understand and learn more, and also to hear from you of your experiences, how you feel they have affected you, or not, and what, if anything you can do to ‘erase’ the memory and ‘data’ we all carry, and help you live a more enlivened, happy, energetic and healthful life.

Each one of us is unique.  There is not another you in the whole of creation.  To me that is completely mind blowing.  Just one you, and just one me – and each of  unique. Wow!

Over the next few weeks I shall be exploring the nature of change, from a spiritual, mental, emotional and physical perspective, and sharing with you some of the changes that have informed my life, the way I live, my work, my changes of diet, lifestyle, partners, beliefs.  I would love it if you would let me know how your life is, how the changes you have made have affected you, or how you long to make changes, but are just a teeny bit scared to take that leap.

As an energy medicine practitioner as well I am fascinated by the changes we feel in the body – panic, fear, hope, joy, dread – a myriad different words for feelings as they arise in the body.

We will look to diet, nutrition, health, disease, and sometimes I may link you to people, ideas, products that have made a huge difference to my life.
